THE T.V. WAR

January 16th 1991 through March 6th 1991 a coalition of United Nations forces attacked Saddm Hussein and the country of Iraq. Saddam's forces crossed the borders of Kuwait and overtook the country. The stated reason for this action was the dispute over the ownership of an underground oil field common to their borders.

During the war I was glued to my televison and one my thoughts was that I was unable to rememberprevious nights news. Two hours after the war began I sat down in front of the television with an SX-70 polaroid and started photographing the war. These images were then annotated with the days date, the broadcast time and the news anchors sound bites.

This visual diary Of the Persian Gulf War contains 434 photographs. The images were then catalogued by their chronological time and date. They were then reproduced on a Canon color copier. The entire diary is compiled onto thirty-four 11X17 inch panels and each panel contains twelve SX-70 photographs.
